How To Identify High Quality Jewelry

I totally get it – earning money isn't a piece of cake. We want to spend money on things that are actually worth it, like delicious food, pretty clothes, and, of course, high quality jewelry. That's why today, I want to share some insights on how to identify one.

The good news is, it's actually quite simple. One key thing to look out for is the quality stamp on the jewelry. You might be wondering what exactly a quality stamp is. It's a mark that indicates the amount of precious metal present in the jewelry. Let's take 14k gold filled jewelry, for example. A high-quality piece will have a quality stamp like "1/20 GF" or "1/20 14K". In the United States, there are strict regulations in place, ensuring that high-quality gold filled jewelry contains at least 5% gold content, hence the 1/20 mark.

Now, here's an interesting part. Have you ever noticed those incredibly cheap gold filled jewelry pieces being sold for around $20? Well, chances are, those pieces are likely made in countries like Brazil or Indonesia, where the regulations surrounding gold filled jewelry may not be as strict. As a result, the lower gold content in those pieces can make them more prone to tarnish comparing to the high quality ones.

Here at ACCENTT, I’m very proud to tell you that all of our jewelry are either made in NYC or the US. This allows me to personally ensure the quality of each piece. Before any jewelry leaves my hands and heads your way, it undergoes a thorough inspection by me.

I hope this article has provided you with some insights on how to identify high-quality gold filled jewelry. If you still have any questions, feel free to reach out to me via DM on Instagram @accenttnyc. I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have. Happy jewelry hunting!
